Remixing Test Prompts to Create Liberatory Assessments
Engage small groups in remixing and rewriting assessment questions.
Liberatory assessment practices engage students in decoding, rewriting, and remixing test questions. Students create new questions that evaluate the same skill or understanding, but do so in a more relevant and exciting way. The activity demystifies and defangs assessment and empowers students to reflect on what they know and can do when offered the right opportunity to showcase their abilities.
