Diane Hsieh, Ph.D.

Research Scientist



Diane joined Search Institute in 2021, after completing her doctoral studies, which focused on motivational theories as well as applied research projects in afterschool and summer camp settings. Previous areas of research also included adolescent STEM motivation and out-of-school time program participation. Diane holds a doctorate in Education from the University of California-Irvine. Diane is originally from Taiwan; her international upbringing contributes to her passion and commitment for doing research that truly celebrates diversity. She finds youth development particularly fascinating and believes the combination of research and practice offered by Search Institute is unmatched.
