Heather Poparad, M.Ed.
Research and Practice Associate
As a Research and Practice Associate, Heather is responsible for supporting applied research projects and assisting with the translation of findings into useful resources for practitioners. She holds a Master’s of Education in Educational Psychology – Applied Developmental Science from the University of Virginia and was involved in projects at the Youth-Nex lab that focused on issues related to equity, school improvement, the middle school experience, and out-of-school-time programs. Heather also has experience in a variety of direct service roles including teaching English, postsecondary advising, and providing care for young children. She has a broad interest in applied research that supports organizations in improving systems and structures that enhance positive developmental outcomes for all young people. Heather believes that facilitating individual growth is the greatest power that every human possesses, and the most enriching experience in life is to watch someone blossom into their best self.
