As Research and Practice Associate, Lex bridges the gap between theory and practice by supporting Search Institute’s research team by translating research findings for public audiences and developing resources for educators and practitioners who are implementing the Developmental Relationships Framework. Lex was a public school psychologist in Massachusetts and went on to continue a career in applied research in youth development at Tufts University where they received a Master’s in School Psychology and Education Specialist (M.A., Ed.S.). From there, Lex transitioned to the Harvard Graduate School of Educationand contributed to theoretical and applied research on social and emotional learning in schools. Lex’s areas of expertise include positive youth development and social emotional learning, with a focus on cultivating and improving relationships among educators, curriculum development and applying an equity lens to adapting evidence-based interventions. Lex joined the Search Institute team to further contribute to the field of positive youth development and make a meaningful impact in the lives of youth and youth-serving organizations.
