Class Ombuds
Identify student who can relay student concerns to you.
A class ombudsperson is a student whom other students in the class can go to with concerns, critiques, frustrations, or ideas for improving your classroom. The ombuds maintains the confidentiality of the students who share with them when relaying the feedback to you. The ombuds then works with you to devise a response. The response may be an explanation for and justification of current practice that students can understand or support. The response could also be adjusted instructional approaches, expectations, assessment practices, class norms, or policies.
