Cherech Allam, MSA, CPA

Controller

Cherech brings more than 20 years of accounting experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She has held key financial roles at organizations including Canadian Pacific (CP), APMG (parent company of Minnesota Public Radio), and Teens for Food Justice.

At Canadian Pacific, Cherech managed $120 million in revenue, while her nonprofit experience has spanned budgeting, financial planning, annual audits, grants management, and operations. She is a licensed CPA with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. 

As Controller at Search Institute, is responsible for the finance and accounting function by overseeing the audit, leading financial planning and reporting, and forecasting, as well as oversight of the organizational budget. She ensures strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, efficient financial systems and effective cash flow management.

Outside of work, Cherech enjoys spending time in nature, discovering new music, and experimenting with different cuisines in the kitchen.
